Walking on MS

t 1:00 pm on Sunday, May 5th over 150 people will walk, run or roll in the 2013 Scotiabank MS Walk. Multiple sclerosis is the most common neurological disease among young people in Canada.

The Walk will start from Strathcona Elementary and includes a scooter and wheelchair accessible route. Last year over 5,000 supporters raised over $1.2 million across BC.

From April to June, people in 25 communities will raise money and MS awareness in BC and Yukon.

Fast facts about MS

MS is the most common neurological disease affecting young adults in Canada.

Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis in the world with 55,000-75,000 living with the disease.

Every day, three more people in Canada are diagnosed with MS.

MS Society of Canada fundraising has supported over $100 million in research projects since 1948.

Canada is a major leader in MS research. Canadians raise the highest amount per capita for MS research in the world.
