Fundraising For Barn Raising

Ecovillage looking for donations

Submitted by Rachael Drennen FVWC for Yarrow Ecovillage

he Yarrow Ecovillage Community Farm is helping out farmers such as ourselves, by providing farmland at reasonable prices to dedicated organic farmers. The Community farm also holds tours and special events, so that the public can learn about sustainable farming and local food.

Our most recent events have been a stream restoration workshop, a ten-mile tasty tour, and an organic gardening workshop.

Now we need your help to launch our next big project - holding a barn raising! The farmers need a barn, and we also want to hold events, like barn dances, and need a place to hold them.

We are launching a Peerbackers.com campaign. We have only 45 days to raise $30,000 from many small donations! Anyone who donates gets invited to our barn raising parties, and can get great rewards such as seeds from our farm, fresh produce, or invitations to fun events like a 'Pumpkin Picking Party'.

Go here to see a video of us and our farm, and to learn more about this project. For more information, visit: www.YECfarm.blogspot.com
