bbotsford-based musical theatre group, Fraser Valley Stage, is preparing to represent Canada at the 19th Annual International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival competition in Buxton, England.

The cast will perform H.M.S. Pinafore on August 1st, 2012 as they vie for various coveted awards, against other amateur performers from around the world.

Before setting sail over the "pond", F.V. Stage will present five performances of the show at the Abbotsford Arts Center, April 18th through 21st.  Ticket holders for the Wednesday, April 18th performance, are also invited to attend the "Inaugural Sailing Gala Reception" at 6:00 p.m.  Enjoy complimentary appetizers and meet Sir William Gilbert himself!!

"Pinafore", Gilbert and Sullivan's first blockbuster is among the most crowd pleasing comic musicals in history. Loved for its dynamic songs, gleefully entertaining story and saucy satire.

The Captain's daughter is in love with a lowly sailor, whilst her father has a more sophisticated suitor in mind. Will she and her beloved defy convention and set sail for love? Evening shows are at 7:30 p.m. on each performance date, with a matinee at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st. Adults $25.00/Seniors and Student $23.00. Group Rates available.
