Best Western robbed at gunpoint Saturday by two men wearing balaclavas

Police investigate armed robbery Saturday night at the Best Western on Industrial Way.

 

t approximately 9:30 P.M. Saturday, police were called to a robbery at the Best Western Inn Cold Wine and Beer Store in the 43000 block of Industrial Way.

According to witnesses, two men went in to the store and demanded money. One of the men brandished a handgun while taking about $400 in cash, cigarettes, a bottle of liquor and the cash register before fleeing east on foot toward the service station on Lickman Rd.

RCMP immediately set up a perimeter and the police K9 unit managed to pick up a track, but it ended abruptly, leading police to believe that a getaway vehicle was used to escape the dragnet.

Both suspects are described as Caucasian, 22 to 25-years-old, wearing black balaclavas, black hoodies and black pants. One was about 6' 2" and 200 pounds, and the other suspect is slightly smaller.
