Chilliwack Optimists look to the community for support of hot lunch program

Submitted by Sam Mohan, Pres., Chilliwack Optimist Club

n May 4, 2012, the Optimist Club of Chilliwack will be hosting our 6th Annual Dinner and Auction. As in the past, all monies raised will stay in our community and benefit the children of Chilliwack. The program this year will serve more than 90,000 hot lunches in our school calendar year benefitting twelve schools in our district.

This is a tremendous achievement and one that our community should feel proud of. In these uncertain financial times facing our community it is the children that are most often forgotten, therefore creating a much greater need for this program.

The Optimist Club of Chilliwack is once again requesting the support of our community in achieving our goal of $20,000 to feed the children in our community. Any donations of products or services for our Silent and Live auctions would be greately appreciated. It is with the generous and unselfish support of local businesses such as ytours that makes Chilliwack a place that we can all be proud to call home.

The Optimist Club of Chilliwack wishes to thank you in advance for your generous support for our "Feed the Children" Dinner and Auction.
