Glen Ringdal announces Mamma Mia show Tuesday during Chamber Connections at Ric's Grill.

resident of Prospera Centre and the Chilliwack Chiefs Glen Ringdal, along with some special guests, were at Ric's Grill for the Chamber of Commerce Chamber Connections Tuesday to announce the Broadway show Mamma Mia is coming to Prospera Centre Friday August 17.

"This is a very exciting day for Chilliwack, and an extremely exciting day for Prospera Centre," said Ringdal. "I'm so proud to announce that the global smash hit musical that has been enjoyed that has been enjoyed by no fewer than 50 million people worldwide, Mamma Mia inspired by the unforgettable songs of the supergroup ABBA, is coming to Chilliwack."

Ringdal said that he was delighted presenter Henry Kolenko chose Prospera Centre as the sole venue in the Lower Mainland to have the production.

Chamber Pres. Kevin Gemmel draws biz cards for cool prizes like this COSTCO hanging basket.

"Its a real feather in Prospera's cap and a tribute to the theatre-loving audiences of Chilliwack," said Ringdal.

The production is well travelled after having been seen by audiences in 150 North American cities over the last 13 years.

"If you remember the story of Mamma Mia about a mother and her daughter, you will agree that many mothers and daughters in Chilliwack will want to be in the audience, and with Mother's Day just around the corner, tickets to the show may be just the perfect Mother's Day gift," said Ringdal.

"Many of you are familiar with the great ABBA songs of Mamma Mia. Big hits like Dancing Queen, SOS, Money Money Money and the unforgettable Take A Chance On Me, and I know you'll be excited to hear them, just as I am."

The show is expected to be sold out at the 3300-seat Centre, plus, Ringdal says they recently purchased an additional 1000 floor seats.

Tickets range from $65 to $75 plus taxes and fees and go on sale at 9 A.M. Thursday May 3 at the Prospera Box office at 45323 Hodgins Ave, by telephone at 604-702-0062 or online at: www.kbrticketing.com

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, headed by President Kevin Gemmel and VP Patti MacAhonic is a great resource hub for local businesses. Members are a dynamic collective big and small companies.

Chamber Connections is a fun monthly schmooze and networking bonanza held at different venues and business locations throughout Chilliwack.

Last week was Volunteer Week in Canada, and MacAhonic thanked her volunteer board members for their efforts throughout the year.

"These people volunteer and use their own time to come out and to make sure that the Chilliwack Chamber members are served well and they do a really good job, and I'd like to recognize them for that tonight," said MacAhonic.

Special thanks from the Voice to Glen Ringdal and Prospera Centre, and kudos to Ric's Grill who put together trays of exquisite hors d'oeuvres and deserts served up by their great staff.
