Mounties Recover Stolen Guns

Roadside check leads to weapons and drug charges

hen Chilliwack RCMP pulled over a vehicle on Friday, April 8, for a routine traffic stop on Elkview Rd. they got a big surprise. Inside the car were 3 guns and a quantity of methamphetamines.

The guns were determined to have been stolen from a home on Chilliwack Lake Rd sometime on Saturday March 30.

As a result, a man and woman from Chilliwack were arrested and charged with several offences including unauthorized possession of a firearm as well as possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Cst. Tracy Wolbeck told The Voice in an e-mail that they are confident they'll fid the missing weapons however could not speculate as to where the guns went what purpose they'll be used for.

"It's a big success for us to have found the one's that we did and are confident that as the investigation progresses we will uncover the others. "
