You Can Run, But...

Shoplifting suspect chased down, then held by fire fighters

A shoplifting suspect is held by a security guard and Chilliwack fire fighters Friday while waiting for RCMP to arrive.

Just after 4 p.m., a man was spotted stealing from the north side Save-On Foods and took off on a BMX bicycle.

 

A security guard gave chase and the tackled the man in the alley off of Alexander Ave. and Young Rd.

 

The suspect put up a struggle. Fire fighters happened to be in the area and leant a hand, holding the man and administering emergency first aid until RCMP arrived and placed the suspect under arrest.

 

BC Ambulance paramedics were also on-scene to treat the suspect for a couple of scrapes.

 

The stolen item can be seen on the ground.
