No Injuries in Drive-by Shooting

Bullets fly for the second time in a day in Chilliwack

Police investigate reports of bullets hitting a residence on Broadway St. Saturday. Below, the outside of the house is searched with flashlights.

 

hile RCMP were busy investigating a Saturday morning shooting at the Chilliwack Motor Inn on Young Rd., more gunshots rang out. It was in the afternoon this time when a passing vehicle pumped several shots into a home in the bustling 8900-block of Broadway Ave. right across the street from Netherlands Reformed Church.

 

The investigation continued after dark, and police flashlights could be seen scanning the exterior of the house for bullet holes.

Chilliwack RCMP UFVRD confirmed with The Voice that there were no injuries, and that at least one ambulance was on the scene just as a precautionary measure.

According to a local who lives nearby, the home is a hangout for a lot of people.

"There's always people coming and going from there," said the resident. "We heard this was a drive-by shooting."
