Chilliwack designer featured at 32nd Annual
Vancouver Fashion Week Sept 17-23
Chilliwack designer Anelia Basson will be showcasing her latest on the Vancouver Fashion Week runway.

ancouver Fashion Week (VFW) is proud to announce its 32nd season taking place September 17th – 23rd, 2018 at Vancouver Art Gallery Square in the heart of downtown Vancouver, followed by Vancouver Kids Fashion Week running September 22nd – 23rd, 2018.
Presenting a combined 80 runway shows featuring national and international designers’ innovative Spring/Summer 2019 collections, VFW will once again showcase its global platform and support for Canadian talent over seven diverse days.
This season’s lineup of handpicked talent from around the world includes first-time showers: MC Chatard/Canada, Lena Kasparian/Australia, Phuong My/Vietnam, JNORIG /Spain, Kan By Paulina Hernandez/Mexico, 6-D Sebastion Masuda/Japan and returning designers: Not Dead Yet and Kirsten Ley both from Canada.

Also new to this season’s lineup are sustainable designers Tom Foolery and Susan New York Design both from the USA.
VFW’s Opening Night Gala on September 17th will lead its 32nd season in style, giving guests a glimpse into the highly-anticipated runway shows to come. Attendees will be treated to an evening of sensory indulgence with an exclusive preview of the designer collections and a surprise selection of full runway showcases.
About Anelia Basson
Anelia Basson (known in the industry as Anelia-Art), born in South Africa, now based in Chilliwack BC will be presenting her latest collection, Explore the Journey on the Vancouver Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 runway. She is a self-taught artist and she designs all of her own fabrics to create eclectic wearable pieces of art.
Inspired by the sunshine and brilliant colours in South Africa, Anelia believes that the use of colour is very important for the soul and she is truly passionate about protecting the environment which is evident in garments printed with flowers, animals and scenes of nature.
In addition to this, she supports local businesses and her dresses (as well as pillows and swimwear) are all made individually and finished by hand (some detailed with original Swarovski crystals). Her passion is to expose and attract people to art using unique shapes, bright hues and original details to brighten up any dull or boring space.
