Ruth & Naomos Mission to get $6M for 35 low-income housing units

ow-income families in need of affordable rental housing in Chilliwack will soon have access to 35 new units of affordable housing.
Following the September 2016 announcement of a $500-million investment in affordable rental housing, the B.C. government.
Ruth and Naomi's Mission $6 million in capital funding toward a new housing project at 46123 and 46135 Princess Ave.
BC Housing will work with the society to fully develop the project plans and ensure the proper rezoning and consultation is considered and confirmed before construction.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in spring 2017, with completion projected for spring 2018.
"Healthy families make healthy communities. Ruth and Naomi's Mission is grateful to the Province of British Columba for its continued support as we seek to transform the lives of low-risk and at-risk homeless families. We deeply care for the people in our community and today we have a new opportunity to start building hope for families in Chilliwack," said Bill Raddatz, executive director, Ruth and Naomi's Mission.
Last year, the Province invested more than $7 million to provide subsidized housing and rent supplements for close to 1,400 households in Chilliwack.
