Chilliwack's McConnell ready to score his first touchdown at the BC Lions camp next week

Matt McConnell, No. 20, carries the ball for the Okanagan Sun. He's on his way to Kamloops next weekend for BC Lions tryouts.

 

he dream of playing professional football takes another big step next week for 4 British Columbia Football Conference players when they take to the turf at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops for the 2016 BC Lions Rookie Camp.

 

Three players from the Okanagan Sun and one from the Langley Rams will don the gear for the 3 day camp. For Sun’s Hull and McConnell it will be their first pro camp while Sun’s Vecchio and Rams Lund were invites last year.

 

O.S. - Michele Vecchio – OL, 6’1”, 300lbs – Kelowna, BC

O.S. - Matt McConnell – DB, 6’2”, 215lbs – Chilliwack, BC

O.S. - Layne Hull – LB, 6’0”, 205lbs – Yorkton, Saskatchewan

L.R. - Nathan Lund – RB, 5’11”, 180lbs – Coquitlam, BC

 

All four 21 year olds have been invited to the Lions Rookie Camp that runs May 26 – 28 at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops. 

 

BC Lions main camp begins May 29.
