Chilliwack Harmony Chorus brings cheer to seniors

Members of the Chilliwack Harmony Chorus perform at Chilliwack City Hall in April 2013.

his last week we performed at two seniors residence and care facilities out of town. Monday we attended the Residences at Morgan Creek in South Surrey for the first time. We also performed again at the Glenwood Car Home in Agassiz for their monthly birthday celebration.

Our traditional style seemed to bring both facilities alive during our performances. Good therapy for all involved.

Since we started inviting ladies to join the chorus about a year and half ago we have acquired plenty of enthusiasm for the songs and style of rehearsals and performances. The latter is what provides the revenue for us to pay expenses.

We are currently trying to get a quartet together on a regular basis to provide the traditional style of presentation. We would particularly like to invite men of musicality to show an interest in this hobby. That would start with attending a regular rehearsal on Monday nights 7 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church beside Chilliwack Middle School on Yale Rd.

Anyone who may be interested in learning four part harmony is welcome.
