nce again the three Rotary clubs in Chilliwack and the City of Chilliwack are working together to ensure another stunning Christmas Parade that will delight boys and girls of all ages this December.

In 2013, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack-Mt. Cheam, and the Rotary Club of Chilliwack/Fraser executed a plan to host the annual Christmas parade in conjunction with the City of Chilliwack.  Each club raised $3000 and the City of Chilliwack matched this contribution. Despite significantly colder temperatures, thousands of Chilliwack residents lined the streets of downtown Chilliwack to take in the lights and sounds of the beloved community event, last December 7.

On Saturday, December 6, the Rotary clubs in Chilliwack and the City of Chilliwack will be welcoming Santa Claus back to town for another great Rotary Christmas Parade. Committee chairperson, Kevin Mindel, says this year’s event will be bigger and better than before.

"The Rotarians that make up the Parade committee have been listening to public feedback and are working to make the Christmas Parade the best it can be. Changes are being made to ensure that families are entertained from one end of the Parade route to the other, with music, hot food, and top-notch Parade floats," he said.

Schools, churches, and community groups are already busily planning their float designs, and businesses are signing up to be sponsors. More help is needed however, says Rotary Christmas Parade Coordinator, Sharon Dueck.

"We have a number of different sponsorship levels available.  Each business has the opportunity to show they care about free, family-friendly entertainment in our community, and to partner with Rotary and the City of Chilliwack in this profile event," said Dueck.

The Rotary Christmas Parade will return to the streets of downtown Chilliwack on Saturday, December 6 at a new start-time of 5:30pm. To get involved as a Parade participant or sponsor, visit, email here or call (604) 997-4465.
