Track Tragedy

Canadian National Rail train hits person

First responders were at the Evans Rd. crossing early Monday after a train collided with a pedestrian. Below a warning sign at Evans rd. with the train behind it, and the train is stopped at the Young Rd. crossing.


hortly after midnight Monday, police, paramedics and firefighters responded to a call that someone was hit on the tracks between the Evans Rd. and Young Rd crossings.


There were unconfirmed reports from locals that responders found a male victim without a pulse.


Initially, there was some confusion as to exactly where the victim was located who was eventually found  midway between the two crossings


The CN train managed to stop a hundred yards east of the Evans Rd. crossing (see photo on the right) while Young Rd. remained blocked.


It's not known what the man was doing on the tracks, nor any other information about this incident. It's thought that he did not survive. However, this has not been confirmed.
