It's in the Water

Cool kayakers come from all over the country for Icebreaker

here was no ice to break at this year’s Chilliwack Centre of Excellence Ice Breaker flat water slalom race series, but shifting weather conditions certainly added to the kayaking challenges of over 40 athletes who competed amid everything from sunshine to pouring rain and blasts of wind these past two weekends.

Local Chilliwack racers put up a friendly fight and took overall winning titles in the series for K1 Men’s and Women’s JR and SR categories, as well as K1 and C1 Women’s Cadet levels.

Kayaking races were held in Fort Langley, Chilliwack, and Abbotsford. 

Challenging BC’s local paddlers, were visiting athletes from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, California, and Nevada.
