KART season kicks off April 4 at Greg Moore track

KART racers had a great summer on the Greg Moore track last year. Below, American driver Austin Riley poses with former Muscle Car TV presenter Lou Santiago. Riley who has autism will be a featured driver on the weekend of May 16-17.

 

irst off, our season starts on April 4 with Race No. 1 a one day race. Then followed again on April 25-26 with Race No. 2.

 

Friday thru Sunday May 1-3, will be the North West Gold Cup. Practising begins Friday at or about 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m., followed by a full day of practise and qualifying on Saturday with the Finals on Sunday.

 

Next up on our schedule, will be May 16 & 17, with a doubleheader weekend with races No. 3 & No.4. On Saturday at 9:15 a.m., special guest Mayor Sharon Gaetz will be dropping by to talk with Austin Riley, a young driver from the USA who is traveling across the US & Canada to raise awareness of autism. 

 

Austin has autism. His dad Jason and Austin will be at Vedder Middle School as well as Chilliwack Pathways Ltd, to talk with students alike. (check out Racing with Autism on Facebook)

June 13-14 Race No. 5 Sunday;

July 4-6 Race No. 6 Sunday;

Again this season, WCKC will be hosting the Rotax Max CanAm Pro Karting series Friday through Sunday July 10-12, where drivers will have a chance to qualify for the World Championships later this year. Date and place TBA.

Aug 8-9 Race No. 7 Sunday

Aug 29 & 30 Saturday & Sunday Races No. 8 & No. 9

Sept 19 & 20 Sunday Race No. 10 final race of the season
