Gemma Bovery is the first of six shows being presented by CCAC.


he Chilliwack Community Arts Council and The Toronto International Film Festival Circuit are pleased to co-present the Spring 2015 Chilliwack International Film Series featuring six critically acclaimed films:


All movies start @ 7:00 PM and take place at Cottonwood 4 Cinemas.
Ticket prices are $6.00 per screening at the door, or a $30.00 series pass for all six films can purchased from the Chilliwack Community Arts Council - The Art Room: #20-5725 Vedder Rd or The Book Man: 45939 Wellington Ave. This is always a popular event so get there early for your tickets!


April 8 – Gemma Bovery
France/ French/English/ 99 min/ 14A/ Drama
This is the story about a passionate young Englishwoman whose dull married life in a provincial Norman town steers her toward adultery in this updating of Flaubert’s masterpiece Madame Bovary.

April 15 – Mr. Turner
UK/ English/ 150 min/ PG/ Bio, Drama
The movie explores the last quarter century of the eccentric British painter J.M.W. Turner. Profoundly affected by the death of his father and loved by a housekeeper that he takes for granted, he forms a close relationship with a seaside landlady with whom he eventually lives incognito in Chelsea, where he dies.

April 22 – The Imitation Game
UK/ USA/English/ 115 min/ PG/ Bio, Drama, Thriller
Based on the real life story of legendary cryptanalyst Alan Turing, the film portrays the nail biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team of code breakers during the darkest days of World War ll.

April 29 – Big News From Grand Rock
Canada/ English/ 87 min/ G/ Comedy
Small town journalist Leonard Crane starts making up stories to save his job but gets into trouble when one of his fabricated news pieces turns out to be true.

May 6 – Sunshine on Leith
UK/ English/ 96 min/ PG/ Comedy, Drama, Musical
Based on the sensational stage hit of the same name, featuring music by pop-folk band The Proclaimers. The film follows the stories of Dave and Ally, who have to relearn how to live life in Edinburgh after coming home from serving in Afganistan.

Mat 13 – Wet Bum
