A Fiery Feast
Ryder Lake 50th Anniversary tribute dinner for Volunteer Fire Dept April 26
Released by Peter Whitlock, RLFI
e are expecting 60+ guests plus likely 60+ residents. Patrick Lynch and Dorothy Bendsen will be coordinating the food and will be compiling a list of who is bringing what.
Oven space is limited so food will be need to be kept hot in other ways. We have eight steamer trays which can be used for this purpose.
Talk to Patrick if you would like one of the steamer tray inserts to cook in. Crock pots are another solution. The Women’s Institute has committed to five main meat dishes and the Farmers’ Institute will be looking at adding to that. We will need lots of salads, vegetable dishes and desserts!!
Please let Patrick know what you are bringin via e-mail here.
We will be looking for pictures and memorabilia relating to the Ryder Lake Firemen and Fire hall. Please let us know if you can help with this.
Pot luck dinners are always great community events and this one is the first joint one hosted by both the Ryder Lake Women’s Institute and the Ryder Lake Farmers’ Institute we have held in some years.
This event will also recognize the many Ryder Lake residents who have worked very hard over the past few years to preserve the Ryder Lake Hall and return the two owners to a good working relationship that benefits the whole community.
Please mark your calendars and plan to come celebrate with your neighbours and honour the Ryder Lake Firemen.
