Chilliwack RCMP and firefighters check a College Street alleyway in an area where the sound of an explosion happened late Saturday.

loud boom rocked the College and Henderson neighbourbood just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Chilliwack RCMP and the City of Chilliwack Fire Department immediately responded and checked the alley behind College St.

A camper van parked was checked to see if it was perhaps a propane tank that exploded.

Except for a whiff of smoke in the air, nothing was found to explain the explosion.

Mystery booms have been happening once or twice a month in the area over the last year and are always at night.

Five years ago, a dumpster was blown apart in the Victor St. area.
