A suspect leans up against an RCMP cruiser after being arrested Friday.

olice put a quick end to the shenanigans of a suspect wanted on BC-wide warrants who allegedly drove a stolen pickup truck, with stolen plates, over the front lawn of a home in the 9200 block of Woodbine Ave. just after 6 p.m. on Friday.

According to reports, the resident came out armed with a baseball bat and proceeded to bash the pickup before it sped off.

Mounties fanned out and quickly spotted the truck. At that point, the suspect ditched it, swapping it for a BMX bicycle.

Most cops can run like Ethiopians, so when the suspect was spotted making a mad dash along the CN main line, the officer gave chase until they popped out in the 8900 block of Hazel. The suspect then took off on the bicycle with the officer still hot in pursuit.

Meanwhile, other officers had tightened their perimeter, and the suspect ran the bicycle into a cruiser as it moved in to cut him off.

He was placed under arrested and held until BCAS paramedics arrived to transport the him to Chilliwack General Hospital. A short time later he was released and then taken to cells to face numerous charges.

More details later. Photos below.
