Soprano Michelle Koebke highlights night of Mozart and Handel April 12

e sure to seize the opportunity to enjoy the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra & Chorusís spring concert slated for April 12, 2014 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. 


Recent CSO concerts have played to full houses, and a quick look at the eveningís repertoire packed with well-loved masterpieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and George Frideric Handel, promises it is likely that this one will follow suit.


A Night of Mozart and Handel will open with a performance of the majestic overture to Handelís Music for the Royal Fireworks. 


Back again to dazzle the audience is soprano Michelle Koebke, who will be sharing the spotlight with virtuoso trumpet player, Daeyong Ra.  Together with the orchestra they will be performing two brilliant pieces by Handel: Eternal Source of Light Divine and Let the Bright Seraphim.  Also featured in the first half is the second movement of the beautiful Mozart Harp and Flute Concerto in C, with harpist Maria Moularas and Sarah Dyck on flute.


The Chilliwack Symphony is also pleased to present Chilliwackís own talented singer Shane Hanson.  A gifted counter-tenor, Mr. Hanson is currently studying opera performance at UBC.  After the intermission Mr. Hanson and Ms. Koebke, in concert with the CSO chorus and orchestra, will present Handelís glorious Dixit Dominus.


This Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performance of the soul-capturing, acclaimed music of the great masters, G.F. Handel and W. A. Mozart, will be sure to delight Chilliwack audiences throughout the entire evening.
