Stň:lo Welcomes Figures Project

Tourism Chilliwack to spend $48k federal grant for carvings



ourism Chilliwack, in partnership with the Stó:lō Nation, will commission and hire a local carver to create two welcome figures to be installed on the grounds of the Visitor's Centre.


The project will also include an initiative for local students in grades 3 and 4 to design and create a project that celebrates First Nations culture in the community.


The Government of Canada is supporting 23 additional projects in the province, bringing the total to more than 80 projects to help Canadians get active, connect with nature, and explore the diverse culture and heritage that make British Columbia a great place to live.
