Riding Giants

Canyon Run July 2-3

Tim Renshaw, Vintage Motorcycle Ride

he Canyon Run is all about giving back to the old biker spirits, experiencing the bikes they ran and create a positive riding community.

“The reason the Vintage Motorcycle Canyon Run was created was in respect and the memory of motorcycle pioneers who influenced myself and others when we first started riding in the 1960’s. Their humor and generosity stayed with me for all these years," said organizer Tim Renshaw.

With that in mind, we welcome every type of rider. It doesn’t matter if you ride a cruiser, chopper, hog, street bike, café racer, adventure bike, if you enjoy or have a classic/vintage bikes you are more than welcome. We have a limited number of open bike slots (new bikes) so that the classics and vintage bikes are in the forefront of the run.

This year’s event is structured as follows:

• July 2nd Assemble at the Staging Point (Cultus Lake Exit 104, 39980 S Parallel Road, Abbotsford - before 8:30am

• Depart from staging at 9 am

• July 2nd - Ride to Lillooet for BBQ, Show and Shine, Photo Ops, Camping
• July 3rd - Breakfast at the Legion, Rider Brief, Photo Ops, Ride to the Log Cabin in Spences Bridge for Lunch, then return to the staging point.

We have secured camping spots and the BBQ, Breakfast, and Log Cabin lunch are all part of the rider registration fees. If you’d like to come and stay in a Hotel/Motel we encourage you to arrange this quickly as this year we have had the rooms go fast. This is our second run and we really hope to make this an event British Columbia will be known for. It already has grown substantially since last year so please register right away so we can ensure that we have everyone covered for food etc.

We really want to point out that without the support from the many supporters from across British Columbia as well as Alberta, and especially the Town of Lillooet, The Women’s Auxiliary and Legion, and Lillooet Search and Rescue this event would likely not have come to fruition. Thank you also to the Valley Voice for posting this for us.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the event, to register please visit www.canyonrun.ca or visit our Eventbrite Page.
