Local News Good Neighbours Ryder Lake Ramble busy despite airport advertising snub By Peter Whitlock, Ryder Lake Farmer's Institute
The residents who opened their farms and gardens to the public put on a great show and our guests and visitors were extremely appreciative of everyone's efforts.
The weather was great, the gourmet food at the Hall was amazing and the plant sale was well stocked with great bargains. There were a few hitches but we overcame them all and think everybody had a great time. Attendance was down from past years due in part to no longer being able to use the fence by the Airport to let people know the dates. We did not have enough time this year to find an alternate downtown location for the banner. Laurie Hirschman is still finalizing the figures for the day but roughly we netted about $2,100 for the Hall Maintenance account. This was down from $3,700 we raised last year. Our thanks also to Home Life Realty for providing the big tent for both days this year - we really needed the shade and it was great have it there. Congratulations to Annette Vogt who won the great quilt being raffled by the Ryder Lake Women's Institute. Thanks again - great job - everyone. © Copyright (c) 2009-2015 The Valley Voice
