he City knows a good hiring prospect when they see one. Such was the case with Jessica Clark, City of Chilliwack Human Resources Manager, who recently graduated from University of the Fraser Valley with a Degree in Geography.

According to Mayor Sharon Gaetz, she started working on her degree in 2008, before she was hired by the City in 2011, the City "ascertained" that this would be very helpful for her in the position and for her to particularly proceed with a designation of "human resources professional".

"She officially received her degree on Friday and what we also found out about Jessica, and I'm just going to take a moment to read a letter," said Gaetz.

In the letter, from Jacqueline Nolte, congratulated Sparkes on her appointment to the Dean's List of the 2015 Graduation Class.

"Congratulations to you Jessica and for those of who haven't met Jessica yet, you're not going to get to know her very long because she's heading off for maternity leave on Friday. So, we wish you the very best, and I know that it's going to be a brief hiatus before you come back and we'll welcome you with open arms and your little one too," she said.

Gaetz then presented Clark with her Certificate of Appreciation.
