A pedestrian is attended to by Chilliwack first responders and BCAS paramedics Friday at Mary and Hodgins.

riday the 13th turned out to be unlucky for a Chilliwack pedestrian and driver at Mary St. and Hodgins Ave.

Just before 9 a.m., a man was struck in the crosswalk which happens to be right at the hospital.

First responders and paramedics arrived on the scene within minutes. Once the man was stabilized, he was moved to the waiting ambulance and then to Chilliwack General.

A passerby threw in some additional muscle power to help load the injured man.

It was raining and the roads were wet, so it's possible that weather may have been a factor in the accident. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

This is the only Friday the 13th this year. There are three next year in February, March and November.
