Pancake breakfast kicks off Landing festivities July 1

he Chilliwack Community Arts Council in conjunction with 98.5 The Drive and the City of Chilliwack is pleased to announce that the Canada Day Celebration will be held on the grounds of the Chilliwack Landing again this year.
The day will start with the pancake breakfast at Evergreen Hall prepared by the Sardis Kiwanis and served by RCMP in Red Surge. Music provided by the Chilliwack Community Band. The proceeds from the breakfast go to the Special Olympians.
Bouncy Castles will fill the infield while the rest of the grounds will be full of activity booths organized by local clubs and non-profits. You can take a ride on the Rotary Train or the Fanboni. There is even an opportunity to dunk a celebrity for charity.
There will be free skating at the Prospera Centre from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., free swimming at the Leisure Centre from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and competitions at the Skate Board Park.
The Drive Stage Show will feature local artists including Todd Richard and headliner Inez Jasper.
The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show at Townsend Park at 10:00 pm.
