A man is loaded into a waiting ambulance after being found slumped in a vehicle suffering from reported gunshot wounds late Monday. Below, a resident walks by the vehicle where the victim was found.

man was found in a vehicle parked in front of a house in the 9100-block of Hazel St just after 11 p.m. on Monday. Inside the vehicle, was allegedly a sawed-off shotgun.

Initial reports were the man shot himself and that he never regained consciousness and later died in hospital.

But a part of that didn't make sense because of indications that a collision occurred half a block away from where the red 2004 Ford Escape was found.

Shards of glass and pieces of plastic, and a hubcap, were strewn down the centre of Hazel St.

Reports are now that IHIT has taken over the scene and is investigating this as a suspicious death.

RCMP taped off the entire block and Victim Services was called in to assist at the time.

The City set up barricades around 1 a.m. and police were reviewing local surveillance video which may indicate more than one vehicle was in the area at the time of the incident.
