Dragon Boaters muster for the 2016 season, seek new members
Spirit Abreast Dragon Boat Club load their craft into Cultus Lake. Below, the team shows their winning style.
hilliwack's Spirit Abreast Dragon Boat Club is getting ready for the summer now and the team is holding a meet & greet Saturday, March 19, 1pm-3pm at the Lions Club Hall on Spadina Ave. No matter where you see them; lakes, rivers, and even parades, you'll always see their radiant smiles.
The club is looking for new members wanting to spring into action and be part of what Dunn call's their "floating support system" for new breast cancer survivors.
"Dragon boating is a great form of exercise for breast cancer patients and being active reduces cancer risk and reoccurrence rates," she says. "It can benefit everyone to become involved in a sport like ours."
