GM Food Labels a Must

Myrtle Macdonald makes her mark on modified morsels

Submitted by Myrtle Macdonald, Chilliwack

wrote the following on a protest against food labels not admitting genetically modified content.

1. Bees and wind transfer pollen from GMO fields to organically grown canola.

2. Cotton crops in India have become diseased and the farmers are going bankrupt.

3. Most indigenous corn and bananas have gone extinct in Mexico.

 4. Multinationals like Monsanto are ruling the world. When there is a famine in a poor country the indigenous seeds are eaten. Then seed has to be bought from multinationals, and this makes countries go bankrupt.

5. The obesity epidemic is probably caused by Genetically Modified canola. I suspect this because 15 -25 years ago there were few obese people in India. They were using indigenous oils. Then they switched to Canadian Canola. Being a Canadian I am ashamed. I lived in India when most people were slim.
