Police Warn of Senior Scam
Chilliwack elderly targeted and conned, RCMP offer tips

hilliwack RCMP would like to remind residents to be alert when asked for money at your door or over the phone, for any reason.
Chilliwack RCMP have received at least two reports during the last week of a male showing up a residence and asking for money. In these instances, the male reports that he needs a ride to the hospital and money to pay for various things, including the ambulance or to get a vehicle out of impound.
“It seems this person is using people’s good nature to get money for them and is using this as an opportunity to steal other items,” said Cst. Ashley St. Germaine. The suspect was described as Caucasian, approximately 25 years old, dark curly hair, approximately 5’9” and of slim build.
The following steps can be taken to protect you from a potential scam:
