The Cupboard Was Bare 

Chilliwack Envision staff gather a truckload of food

nvision Financial and partner Langley Advance have helped make the holiday season a little brighter for those in need in across the Lower Mainland and in Kitimat. The Full Cupboard Holiday Program, in its fifth year, collected over 800 gifts, 3,665 pounds of food and nearly $4,000 to benefit community partners.

 

Donations continue to come in after the official end of the drive, but community totals raised as of Dec. 13 are as follows:

• Abbotsford: 119 gifts and 650 pounds of food
• Chilliwack: 64 gifts and 650 pounds of food
• Delta: 140 gifts and 800 pounds of food
• Hope: 25 gifts and 190 pounds of food
• Langley: 226 gifts and 535 pounds of food
• Kitimat: more than 500 gifts and 450 pounds of food
• Maple Ridge: 68 gifts and 150 pounds of food
• Mission: 19 gifts and 225 pounds of food
• Surrey, White Rock: 78 gifts and 800 pounds of food

The Full Cupboard, launched last year, is Envision Financial’s innovative program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks. Through this initiative, Envision Financial has committed to raising $1 million for local food banks in the next 10 years. To date, Envision Financial has raised over $176,000 and more than 17,300 pounds of food for Food Banks in B.C.
