River of Music

Tunes on the Trans Canada Trail August 21 & 28

Staff/Voice file photo

eff Bonner has the music. His stage is the mountains and river.

Bonner, who owns Tractorgrease Multimedia, has embarked on a new music adventure he calls Rock the River. If Party in the Park is the Beatles, then Rock the River is the Rolling Stones.

On Thursdays in August, he’s bringing in local bands to the parking lot adjacent to the Trans Canada Trail at the Vedder Bridge.

Bonner has his finger on the pulse of the Chilliwack music scene. If there’s anyone in Chilliwack who can put together a good show, it’s Bonner.

He also has plans to open a café in the Chilliwack River Valley next to his studio that will showcase local talent.

Anyone who remembers the Soft Rock Café on Fourth Ave or the Classical Joint on Carroll St. in Vancouver back in the 70’s can tell you that if you’re going to have a music scene, you need vibrant coffee houses.

Rock the River is free and runs from 6 -9 p.m.
