CFD says fires deliberate

The resident of the top floor was sitting at Five Corners Wednesday without anywhere to go. The Voice suggested Victims Services may be able to assist with temporary shelter and the fire victim went to look into it.

 

t 12:00 a.m. this morning, firefighters from Chilliwack fire halls 1 &4 responded to a residential fire in the 46000-block of Princess Avenue.

When firefighters arrived they found smoke and flame showing from the 2nd storey bedroom of a 2-storey house. Firefighters quickly confined and extinguished the fire to the 2nd level of the house.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

This fire appears to be deliberately set and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.

Edwards Apartment Fire

 

At 2:00 a.m. this morning, an alert occupant reported a gas can on fire at the rear exterior exit door of a building in the 9300 block of Edwards Street.

 

When firefighters from Chilliwack fire hall 1 arrived, the fire had been extinguished by the occupant using a dry chemical fire extinguisher. There was no structure damage to the building.

 

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

 

This fire appears to be deliberately set and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.
