A suspect sits in the back of a Chilliwack police cruiser after being caught driving a stolen vehicle on Thursday.

n eagle-eyed RCMP officer spotted a stolen vehicle on Victoria Ave around 3 p.m. Thursday.

When police pulled the van over, the driver turned into the Central Community Park lot, jumped out and bolted. Police set up a perimeter in the area and called in the K9 dog services.

It wasn't long before the suspect was spotted at Reece and Young Rd. and arrested on College St.

At one point, the slippery suspect removed his shirt, likely in an attempt to throw off the police, who had to double-check cruiser video footage in order to get a complete description of the driver, such as the colour of the suspects shoes.

Another suspect, who was a passenger in the mini van, was detained at the scene.

A child car seat and part of a bicycle could be seen in the back storage area.
