Cyclist suffers minor injuries in collision on Young Rd.
BC Ambulance paramedics tend to a rider who tangled with a vehicle on Thursday.
hile Ontario has a problem with an increasing number of motorcycle crashes, Chilliwack has its share of bicycle crashes and collisions with vehicles.
Just after 2 p.m. on Thursday, a woman riding a bike collided with a vehicle at the Young Rd. entrance to Salish Plaza.
Thankfully, the rider wasn't seriously injured, although she appeared to have hurt a leg. It's unclear how the accident happened.
People walking or riding, should know that if they have a valid drivers licence, then they have insurance coverage under Part 7 of the No-Fault Benefits Act for loss up to $150,000. This is a cheap form of public insurance that everyone has – if you drive. If the rider doesn't have a licence, then they can still be covered if someone is living at home with them who has a valid BC licence.
