Is Uber coming to Chilliwack?

s Uber coming to Chilliwack? If so, when?

I recently paid a taxi $40 to go from downtown to Pick-a-Part return.  Not far by any stretch of the imagination and probably only about $2-$3 in fuel at the most. But they had me cold. There was no other way. The closest bus stop to the wrecker was unreasonably far away. So it was cake day for the driver.

Seeing as how we don't have autonomous electric caddy's to jockey us around yet, it got me thinking that there must be a better way than standing around for an hour waiting for a city bus.

So, I wanted to know why Uber wasn't in Chilliwack and inquired with the company.

"Uber is a technology platform that connects drivers with riders through a smartphone app. Uber is evolving the way the world moves. By seamlessly connecting riders to drivers through our apps, we make cities more accessible, opening up more possibilities for riders and more business for drivers," said Katipally Krishna Reddy in a response to questions from The Voice.

"From our founding in 2009 to our launches in over 300 cities today, Uber's rapidly expanding global presence continues to bring people and their cities closer. We are working to make Uber familiar in most all of the cities. We will notify as soon as possible when get the service in Chilliwack," added Reddy.
