Staff/Ada County Sheriffs photo
omewhere, deep in the bowels of Chilliwack's seedy underbelly, emerged 42-year-old John R. Jones who travelled to Idaho looking to use the internet to lure what he thought was a 14-year-old girl into his evil clutch. But, instead ended up being arrested on several sex charges.
Initially, the nefarious underpinnings of Jones' scheme came in the form of off-colour messages for about a week prior, hoping to have a sexual encounter with a "girl", who turned out to be an Idaho detective.
A rendezvous point was set up in a park-and-go lot last Friday.
Christmas. It was there that American police
swooped in on the suspected pervert Jones, who came gift-wrapped.
It's not known what Jones was doing in Idaho,
whether he was working and living, or just passing through, in which case,
he may have left a trail of felonies and victims behind him. Police continue
Quite surprisingly, Jones was given the
opportunity to post $50,000 bail bond.
