Painted Past

Zona Wale art show depicts what imagination and reality can look like May 10 to June 6

he Art Room is excited to host the culturally stunning and vibrant paintings of local artist Zona Wale.

 

Born and educated in Europe, Zona graduated from the University of Belgrade with a Degree in Literature and Linguistics. In 1970 she made the move from England to Regina, Saskatchewan where her artistic journey began at the University of Regina’s Department of Visual Arts.

 

Following this, she studied art in Belgrade; Serbia, Oliva; Spain (British School of Art), and in Mexico at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende.
 
Her style of painting in which imagination and reality blend and melt together reflects her way of thinking and expressing herself. Zona paints in oil, egg tempera, and acrylic.

 

She has exhibited with various groups in the Fraser Valley, and is one of the founding members of the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association, of which she has been a member since 1996.
 
Meet the artist at her opening on Saturday, May 10 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Art Room: #20 – 5725 Vedder Rd. This event is free of charge; light snacks and refreshments will be served.

 

The show runs from May 10 – June 6, with gallery hours Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
