CRYJAA got full support from the community at fundraiser last Saturday.
hilliwack Restorative Justice and Youth Advocacy Association are pleased to announce that the first annual Blacktie Beanfest was a huge success.
With 160 in attendance and over $7,500.00 raised, organizers are looking forward to planning next year’s show. Hypnotist Lee Dyson ‘The Magic of the Mind’ show wowed those in attendance and Jeff Bodner ‘Essence of Elvis’ set the stage for a great variety show evening.
“Have a Heart for Restorative Justice Blacktie Beanfest Variety Show brought the community together to support this much needed program in the Upper Fraser Valley” said Executive Director Kathy Funk.
The event could not have happened without the many corporate sponsors and auction item donors. We are grateful that they share in our vision for a safer and healthier community.
Funk says that it takes people like James Moran of Guerilla Q who took the time to prepare the smoked pulled pork during the Big Red Barn Burner BBQ Competition at The Yard, Garden & Renovation Show in Chilliwack.
“Congrats on a great event, I believe you pulled off one of the best fund raisers of the year. It will be hard to beat, I had a blast doing my small part,” said Sgt. Kevin Gibson, auctioneer for the event.
The organization continues to look for quality community volunteers to support the organization and Funk is available to speak about the great work Chilliwack Restorative Justice & Youth Advocacy does in the Valley.
Since our inception, in 1998, we have provided restorative services to over 2,295 individuals and have recovered over $108,000.00 in restitution
