Another Suspicious Blaze

RCMP investigate fire behind Banners restaurant

UPDATED/Staff/Voice photos

ver the past few months, the Voice has been reporting on a series of suspicious fires occurring around Chilliwack.

It happened again Tuesday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., a small fire erupted behind Banners Restaurant on Yale Rd.

Fire crews hosed the back of the building down and checked inside for extensions to the fire and found none.

Sometimes it's a sofa left out in a lane or on a vacant property. Other times it may be a stack of skids behind a business.

There's been no confirmation that we have an arsonist in the community.

If you have information about any fire, you are encouraged to contact the Chilliwack RCMP 604-792-4611.

Below is the release from City of Chilliwack Assistant Fire Chief Michael Bourden.
