Art in Retrospect

Memories show offers perspectives of people and places from another time

Released by Mary Chalmers Main, CVAA Publicity Co-ordinator

he Chilliwack Visual Artists Association will hold its' penultimate exhibition in the Chambers Gallery of the Chilliwack Museum from September 15th to November 9th.

This is the second last show of the 2012 season, and is a chance for the members of the CVAA to demonstrate their individual skills and share their personal memories in whichever medium they wish. This should result in an interesting mixture of styles, places and people, as the artist remembers them.

The public is welcome to come and share in the Opening Reception on the 15th September from noon until 2pm in the museum at 45820 Spadina Ave. The Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4.40pm.

See show posters below for more information.

About the CVAA

The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association is a non-profit organization of local artists working and exhibiting together to encourage the appreciation of the visual arts in the community. Our members represent various media; sculpture, glass, painting, print making, wood turning, multimedia, textiles, pottery and photography and share information to educate, raise awareness and stimulate creativity. Our members exhibit their works at local Galleries and Art shows and participate in cultural events in the community.

As volunteers, we curate the Chilliwack Art Gallery at the new Chilliwack Cultural Centre and we provide volunteer gallery sitters during opening hours. Click here for two circular tours and photos. We also curate the Chambers Gallery at the Chilliwack Museum. Click here for a circular tour and photos.
