Everything but the Kitchen Sink

CVAA Art show Nov 30 to Jan 6 at the Chilliwack Cultch

By Mary Main, CVAA

he "No Theme" Visual Artists Group show, will end the 2017 season in the O'Connor Group Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre. We decided to give the show a name, so we hope that "Anything Goes!" will usher in 2018, and new season in the Gallery in style.

"I have one acrylic mixed media painting almost finished, but at 84 my energy is limited. I am doing Alcohol Ink now, which was considered a craft only, not art," said Mary Main. "A few of us are trying to change that as it is a wonderful medium, purely dye and alcohol based and with colour and clarity we can't get in acrylic and oils. I am putting Alcohol Art in the show, for the first time."

Join them for the Reception 1 pm - 3 pm, December 2nd.

Some of our artists may show new work in a different medium and change their usual style; perhaps some of our new members will surprise and delight us with exciting and original work, and we look forward to a very eclectic and original exhibit starting on November 30th, 2017, and running until January 6th, 2018.

The Exhibition will be held in the O'Connor Group Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre, 9201 Corbould Street.  The opening hours for the gallery are noon until 5 pm, Wednesday through Saturday. and from 6:30 to 7:30 on some show nights.
