Armstrong makes it the best summer fest

nce again, Armstrong Metal Fest is proud to announce that this yearís Vancouver Whammy Award winner for Best Local Metal Artist will be playing on the 2018 edition. Festival co-organizer Jesse Valstar will be presenting the award.

 

These results are up to date as of Oct 1310/13/2016. Remember, only the top four nominees by category will be eligible for you to vote on when voting starts in December. We've posted anyone with more than one nomination so you can see where everyone's at. We'll be posting one more count just before the end (on Nov. 20th) in case you wanna get a push going before we launch the finalist vote. Stay tuned - we're gonna trickle results out over the next few days.

The Whammys brings humour and entertainment during a celebration that offers recognition to the local largely underground and under-celebrated artistic talent in the city.

In additional news, preparing for their milestone of a decade of metal in Canada's Okanagan Valley, ARMSTRONG METALFEST is gearing up for their biggest event to date. Over the last nine years the festival has hosted a long list of bands such as: Revocation, Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Beyond Creation, Rivers of Nihil, The Zenith Passage, Anciients, Bison, Striker, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Unleash The Archers, Ninjaspy, Vesperia, Aggression among many others for British Columbia's largest gathering of metalheads from across Western Canada and beyond.

Once again, Armstrong Metal Fest is proud to announce that this yearís Vancouver Whammy Award winner for Best Local Metal Artist will be playing on the 2018 edition. Festival co-organizer Jesse Valstar will be presenting the award.

Planning their 2018 edition, early bird pre-sale tickets for AMF are now on sale for a limited time until February 1, 2018 for a special price of $95 CAD. Tickets can be purchased at the following location here


All tickets provide General Admission and grant access to the festival grounds, camping area and arena from 11:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 until 11:59 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2018. Free camping is included.

Ticket Prices
After early bird pre-sale tickets have been sold out and starting February 1, 2018, the ticket pre-sale price will go up to $125 CAD.
At the door price will be $165 CAD.

Early Entry
Want to grab your favourite camp spot and beat the rush of metal heads? Guests are welcome to arrive Thursday after 11:00 AM.

Camping and Parking
All tickets include tent camping. You are welcome to sleep in your vehicle, RV or trailer. Traveling in an RV? Make sure to reserve your spot so youíre guaranteed a spot that includes water and power hookups. Reserve Online at the following website here.

AMF is also taking band submissions for the biggest mountain moshpit to ever rumble the BC Rockies.

"This year's band submission process has been going wonderfully! My favorite part is discovering new bands, and this year we have had quite a few new submissions! We are also very excited to start early bird sales a month early this year. We have updated our website and it is looking better than it ever has! The crew at West Metal Entertainment are working hard this year to make year ten of the festival the best year to date. We are looking to take the festival to the next level. So far so good, so bring it on! Ten Years Strong," said Jesse Valstar, festival co-organizer.

About the Armstrong Metalfest
Taking influence from Europe's music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley.

What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2017 was the ninth year of the festival and was its largest year for music and attendance.
