Where There's Smoke...

Firefighters contain Ballam Blaze, homeowners safe

n November the 7th, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located in the 47900 block of Ballam Road.

 

On arrival fire crews saw light smoke at the front of a small single family home. The residents had evacuated and remained on site.

 

Firefighters responded from Halls 1, 2 and 4. The fire was difficult to access but was soon brought under control minimizing damage to the home. The residents were able to stay with family.

 

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

 

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental and is under investigation by Fire Department officials and the BC Safety Authority.
