Reaching Out To New Canadians
CLCS hosts ESL Knowledge Exchange

o you have business clients or employees from countries other than Canada? Does your agency provide services or programs for immigrants and English as a Second Language learners?
If so…you are invited to join us for an ESL Knowledge Exchange.
For businesses, churches, community groups/service organizations and others who have an interest in Chilliwack’s English as a Second Language citizens.
The session will include focused questions & discussions on:
current immigration trends
what the community needs to know about immigrants in order to be a welcoming and inclusive community
resources and supports newcomers need in order to settle in a new country/community
current programs and services to newcomers and English as a Second Language learners in Chilliwack
programs and services gaps and challenges
where in the community to post information about learning opportunities for immigrants
creating an effective system for reaching out to Chilliwack’s English as a Second Language population
Please bring pamphlets or brochures if you are representing an organization that currently provides resources or support to English as a Second Language learners. Each program will be given 2 minutes for information sharing
