A Mother's Worst Nightmare
Rollover on Gibson Rd produced no serious injuries
Craig Hill/Voice photos
One person can be seen inside a flipped vehicle Sunday after it T-boned another at Gibson Rd.
t
approximately 11 A.M. on Mother's Day, a pickup truck traveling south on
Gibson Rd. with two people inside, ran the stop sign and slammed into a car,
also with two occupants, that was traveling east on Chilliwack Central. The
impact caused the truck to flip onto it's side and the car careened off the
road smashing through a fence coming to rest in an adjacent field.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and as a safety precaution, kept the female passenger inside the truck while BC Hydro crews were contacted about a possible electrical hazard overhead. Fire crews used the jaws of life to extract her once it was safe to do so.
In one photo, the frantic mother of the man and his sister, who was the passenger inside the truck, arrived at the scene and can be seen running towards the accident.
Other than some bumps and bruises, there were no serious injuries to the occupants of either vehicle. The extricated passenger was taken to hospital to be checked.
