anada is currently embroiled in a conversation about the right to die. Canadian playwright Arthur Milner's newest play Getting to Room Temperature has become an important part of that conversation.
Performed by Canadian stage and television star Robert Bockstael, Getting to Room Temperature premiered at Ottawa's undercurrents festival in February 2016 to critical and popular acclaim, and also played at the Soloway Jewish Community Centre in Ottawa and the MT Tabor Playhouse in Prince Edward County in July 2016.
“Quebec was the first Canadian jurisdiction to legalize medically-assisted death in 2015. The federal government followed with its own law last year. And now the case of Jocelyne Lizotte may prompt another Quebec first. “I would like to be able to sign a
document today which stipulates that when, for a period of 30 days, I
cannot recognize my grandchildren or remember their names, I will be put

am — arguably — of sound mind, for euthanasia to be carried out at a
later date, when I am not.”
Additional dates and locations to be announced.
