Submitted by Christina Paul, Skwah First Nation

he event is called The Spring Market, it is on March 23 from 10am to 3pm at 615 Wellington Ave.

The purpose of the event is a fundraiser for Skwah First Nation Elders. Every year our elders travel to the Annual BC Elders Gathering. We have been fortunate the last two years to have only traveled to Abbotsford; but this year it will be held in Prince George.

This is a Craft and Home based Business Market. Admission is by canned food donation or $1 for adults, kids are free. The canned food will be donated to Salvation Army Food Bank after the event is finished.

There will be a concession; where we are proud to announce that our own elders will be in the kitchen cooking Bannock and Indian Tacos along with drinks and coffee.

We will also be doing door prizes throughout the day and 50/50 Draws. All proceeds from the Concession, Door Prizes, and 50/50 Draws will be going to the Skwah First Nation Elders.

For shoppers we will be having Home-Based Businesses such as:Epicure, It Works, Avon, Tupperware, Everyday Living, Scentsy, BeautiControl, Woman's Heart Link/Usana, and WindSmile Designs. For Handmade items we will be having: Jewelry, clothing, native art, wood work, and crocheted items.
